Come back when pre-Season TG games are over, Killer. Quit wasting your fingers away by typing retirement posts.

Besides, we got that young guy coming up with a TeamSpeak 3 server. I'm not sure we have room for an aging vet anymore. You know, cap reasons.

I've been looking at Mumble (http://mumble.sourceforge.net/). It's an open-sourced alternative to Ventrilo and TeamSpeak and it's way better too. I could run it on my Chicago server if TG ever needed it. I can run a vent server too, but only up to 8 people because that's what the free version of the linux server is limited to. Lame... You have to pay to go through a 'provider' to get more slots. I could easily run 100 slots on my server without even scratching the surface of the resources or bandwidth. But seriously... you guys should check out Mumble. This could be a great option for TG because it would give us even more control and better quality VoIP. -------------------- |

I use all three on a regular basis and I've used Mumble a lot over the last 10 months or so in particular. It's features are by far the best of the three. I really like the user list on screen a lot. However, it's also buggy as hell and there are frequently a lot of issues with sound balance and things that should be simple like setting saves being lost. That lat problem is particularly harsh since it is the most difficult of the three to set up sound levels correctly in the first place.
For this, I would rank it below TS3, which is a huge improvement over the last version and provides quality audio balancing while being easy to configure and relatively bug free. It is short on the flashy features of Mumble, though. Vent is definately a distant third. -------------------- |

Mumble is still free (when you have a server like we do).
