Last night I made Saladin my bitch. I took 8 towns in 18 turns. Blitzkrieg anyone? That was funny. YOUR CAMEL ARCHES ARE NO MATCH FOR MY BULLETS.

I made Isabella my bitch last night.
The Spanish thought attacking Cerigo was a good idea, so I marched my troops across the continent and destroyed her. -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yes and I think we carved up her empire quite nicely. I still don't understand how sometimes it takes a tactical nuke to dislodge longbowmen... I mean seriously is that where navy seals came from?
I did get the multilayer set up properly I beleive so we will need to try and test it tonight. -------------------- Have you ever looked around at the group of people you are in and thought, "If the Zombie Apocalypse happens right now, this is what I have to work with." Game finished after 5 hours. After having various vassels, wars, etc. I displayed the leadership prowess of Augustus Caesar. 72,000 point win. Phew.

It turned out that I had 10% of the land mass after I killed the Germans and was second until you all gave Daitanis your lands.

Sorry Jaedan Next time I'll just kill all of the AI first Haha...all good. I wasn't a fan of the dutch and got boxed in quickly with nowhere to expand. Although and and Cerigo teaming up was a bit overkill :-p -------------------- |

Awesome Jaran! Yeah we had 6 people on last night, it was a blast
We don't have any set hours since a few people (Cer, Sabby, Keld, Jaedan) are all in the WoW:Horde and have raid nights on Tuesday afternoons. We usually play the game around 8ish though EST Do you have AIM Jaran? -------------------- "Est autem fides credere quod nondum vides; cuius fidei merces est videre quod credis" - Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe. Yeah, I do. I think it's in my profile. Not on very often, though.

We'll have to coordinate over aim and join the game via the servers. We'll have to see if you can join our game from steam because we all had it from direct2drive.

Well in all fairness you did put a city in a tile that I wanted. Dai going to war and the advent of gunpowder and the 15 musketeers, 6 cannons and 5 knights was really just a coincidence... honest...
It was really just a bad map that stopped any kind of true expansionism early on making it a perfect war map. I had no AI near me and the only people that I could drive through was players. That being said.. at least it wasnt nukes? Looking forward to the next game its so interesting to watch people as they slowly get better at the game. I know I have come a long way. -------------------- Have you ever looked around at the group of people you are in and thought, "If the Zombie Apocalypse happens right now, this is what I have to work with." Oh yeah, I did horrible that game. I really didn't have a lot of good resources around either to start with. And I couldn't expand anywhere. Sabby was right there, Dai was right to the south...all I could do was go along the coast and that didn't go far. I need to work out a better starting strategy. And I think I'm learning that will start with getting more settlers out faster.

Its really hard to balance science production and expansion. At one point that game I had 50-60% science rate and was running a deficit. It can be offset by having a library/observatory in each city until you can get a courthouse market and bank to help the city pay for itself. With those three buildings in each city you can usually run at a 0% tax.

I didn't even know you could modify those things. That was the second game I have ever played. I got it on D2D so I don't have instructions or anything of that matter and I really havne't had time to research anything at all about how to play the game. Right now I'm just kinda blindly feeling my way though till I can sit down and really learn.

Play a game with Dai on your team. He helped us all the first night with city placement and when to expand etc.
The "Tax Rate" as I call it is what ever is left over with your science and culture is set. At the beginning you start with 100% science and as you start getting maintenance cost for your civ it will slowly go down 10% each time as you run out of money. So if your at 60% science and 20% Culture your tax rate is 20%. Also last night's game I had the WORST starting location. I was placed on tundra, with ice to the south and desert to the north... seriously I would have killed for some plains or even a flood plain at that point. -------------------- Have you ever looked around at the group of people you are in and thought, "If the Zombie Apocalypse happens right now, this is what I have to work with." Yeah, I really need to learn the ins and outs of mangeing my expansion. I'm going to try and get some of that done here the next few days. I'm in a hotel room for work and brought my PC.
