I also choose #3, Representing the Past, Present & Future.
We have all have a past, even if there are things that we are not proud of doing. The Present gives us time to reflect on the Past and choose to either continue the same path or learn from our mistakes and make choices in the Future.

I really don't know why I picked it, because I initially was going to pick 2, because I was thinking "first".

I AM NUMBER 1! NUMBER 2 IS NOT A WINNER, NUMBER 3 NOBODY REMEMBERS!

i picked number 1
personally most will pick 2 or 3
this is due to number 1 being a number of confidence or some view as vanity so they will avoid 1 and either pick 2 being confident but not wanting to seem to self conceited in the eyes of others 3 for the timid worrying about what others may see in them if they picked 1 or maybe even lacking self confidence in general.

and of course there are ones that just pick a number without really thinking about it at all lol! but does that also play into the above description? got to love psychology!

this is just my splurt lol no offense to anyway as it may be the worst theory in psychology on the planet lol

I found this somewhat difficult to answer because we have to put our own value to the question at this point. I like one because it's ahead of the other two and has some interesting traits (1x1=1, etc.). I like two because I'm a second child and it's an even number. I like three because it is last and could give the most time to consider something before having to act. In the end, I'm going with two.

I'm interested in what your thesis is... I presume it likely has something to do with how humans assign meaning to arbitrary choices, and I'm curious on what default patterns are.  I picked 3 because I like the number.  Cheers.
