A brief cooking guide.  It's rather basic but he shares some good tips.

I just watched this and his other 2 crafting guides. There was some interesting tidbits. At the end of the 1st video and the middle of the 2nd he talks about how to get the most experience out of the raw materials which was good. Cooking looks like it is a whole game in itself which is insane. So many combinations and raw materials.

I just started watching his "Leveling Too Slow?" video which looks like it will have some tidbits too. I didn't know about kill streaks till he mentioned it.

I got my cooking over 125 in the first beta weekend + stress test.  I didn't touch it last beta weekend.  It's suprising how little USEFUL items you can make up until that point.  It's also going to be REALLY expensive.
Thranx - Ogre Shadow Knight 60 | Thranx - Zabrak Droid Engineer and Tailor Master | Thranx - Thestran Ranger 50 | Thranx - Dwarven Engineer 40
Thranx - Stygian Ranger 80 | Thranx - Mathosian Marksman 50 | Thranx - Human Consular 18 | Thranx - Human Ranger 80

ANET stated that cooking is the hardest and most expensive and time consuming of all the crafts, so hopefully the high end foods have nice buffs etc...

that alone makes me want to give cooking a go. I am all about the time consuming crafts, keeps me interested longer.

I will have to agree with ANET's statement. I did cooking in both beta events. It was so miserable trying to get my cooking up, especially since I couldn't find half of the required cooking supplies that I needed, even though my pack was filled with different foods and herbs needed to make different stuff. :P

I remember someone from anet saying that almost all the ingame recipes are the same as real world ones....

That would make sense. :) It would also make it much more fun for me! I actually get to learn recipes while I game? Mind=blown. :P
