This is just something I had put together for a couple of my friends, so I figured I'd just copy and paste it here.  The article at the bottom is probably the only thing you would need out of this, but I just figured I'd copy the whole thing for fun.  Enjoy!

Combo-Finisher - Combo and finisher are actually going to be two abilities that are used together(Not in a certain sequence) to produce a new effect of an ability. The "Combo" part of this is going to be some type of AoE field(called a Combo field) that is on the battlefield. The "Finisher" is going to be an ability cast through or onto the Combo field. The ability cast as the finisher will actually be given an added effect depending on the Combo field it is being cast through or onto.

Cross-Profession - Just to be clear profession means the same thing in GW2 as class does in WoW. The reason you will see it called a Cross-Profession Combo is because I can cast my finisher in a teammates Combo field not only my own. This gives us a cross-profession combo that you couldn't have done by yourself.

Thanks for the post! I knew about the combos in the 2nd BWE, except there was so much to learn in the game that I didn't really utilize it.

For most of the MMOs I've played I feel like the combo thing is a little out of the box so it'll be a learning curve for most. 

One thing I think is pretty cool about them is that, in my opinion, they will promote a more tight knit group/better of understanding of the other classes you are playing with.  The reason I think it will promote a more tight knit group is because sure any random pugs can use them, but I think it's somewhat obvious that a team that knows how each member plays will have an opportunity to be really effective with these combos. 

One thing I am definitely excited to play with a little more in BWE#3

Wow I knew combo fields were out there I just didn't realize there were so many different ones. This definitely adds another layer to an already awesome combat system.

This video is good to see the visual effects of all combo fields and finishers but the other vids have better commentary and explanation (see above posts).
