While the jersey thing would be cool, the 28th of June is a Thursday, which conflicts with usual (but not exclusive) release dates on Tuesdays.

It certainly doesn't rule it out, but it seems like an odd date.

Don't games in Europe release on Thursdays, or is it Friday?
Not sure, but even if they do, the US release is usually still on Tuesdays for European developed titles and for MMOs (that need a simultaneous release across supported regions, release has still typically been Tuesdays.  But, again, Tuesdays are "usual", not set in stone.
Joe is absolutely correct.

I don't foresee TOR being much of a long-term MMO, so I'll definitely be headed to GW2 ASAP.  Sign me up!

One thing I found out from one of the videos though was that the necro was a class with a ton of debuffs, buff stealing abilities. Which kind of surprises me provided the Mesmer is the one that is supposed to do it.

Not really. You have to remember ArenaNet changed a lot of mechanics on classes between the first and second game due to their desire to make combat very visual this time around. Also keep in mind what the profession special ability is.

The Necromancer's special ability is 'Life Force' which ties into Death Shroud. This drains life force slowly but gives access to an alternate set of skills which can be used to heal or buff allies. The necromancer really shines when absorbing damage and providing support to allies. So the Necromancer for GW2 is all about stealing health from the enemies and using it to help himself and his allies.

On the other hand the Mesmer's special ability is 'Shattering' which ties into the illusions (the clones and phantasms). Shattering destroys all illusions in the area and applies a secondary effect. The four shatter skills are Mind Wrack (does damage to nearby foes), Cry of Frustration (applies confusion to nearby foes), Diversion (stuns nearby foes), and Reflection (applies a barrier around the caster, which reflects enemy projectiles). ArenaNet took the Mesmer away from the hex/buff remover and turned it into an illusionary caster (which was one possible way to build them in GW1).

Ah... yea, Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 are a bit different in how the professions work.

Sigh... March can't get here fast enough...

I will definatly be playing.  I never really got into GW1 so I'm not sure which class I will take a shot at but I will be getting this game.  Norn look pretty cool and will prob be a theif or ranger but that could change.

I'd check out the Guild Wars 2 Wiki page on professions (Link: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Profession)

Goes into detail on each profession and known skills so far (the only that has no info on skills happens to be the Mesmer since it has to be seen live at a gaming convention). Also list the unique mechanic for each profession.

I will definitely be playing an Asuran Elementalist.  The inability to play gnomes (or at least the little blue elephant guys) in TOR means that game won't hold my attention for too long.

Well you might as well add Warrior for me since I plan on having two characters (Alessi - Asura Mesmer and Isabella - Norn Warrior). Stay back and mess with people's mind through illusions or go and bash people's faces in with an assortment of weapons.

Welcome to the club Joe.
At the rate I'm going by the time Guild Wars 2 is out I'm going to end up having one class for each race.

I have NO idea what I'm talking about, but if I play, Adomnae will be a Mesmer, or a Necromancer if Mesmers are annoyingly unsoloable.
