I need to look for one on crafting, there is probably one this board somewhere but next beta event i want to try some of that.I think Nightsong has a section on crafting but you can also find - How-To - vids on You-Tube that are very informative.Quote from: Victoriella on June 11, 2012, 09:19:11 AM.... and finally last night spent some jewels for that awesome pirate outfit. WOW - Nice outfit Vic. ------ You just figured out the most important thing in GW2 that we all forgot in our guides........ The most important thing is you gotta look good !!!!!! ---- Get some great outfits and transmute your weapons so you stand out in a crowd and are unique ------- this is what the end game of GW2 is all about since there is no equipment grinding ----- You can get these awesome unique cosmetics and dyes through PVE and sPVP (it is very easy to get dyes in sPVP with the gold chest glory rewards - and they have other goodies like bags, etc...).

This is something that I posted before on a person's intro thread --- but should also be on this thread -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Actually if you are a true altaholic --- then you don't wait till you hit max level to make your next ALT I am actually having a hard time figuring out what all my names are already for 8 characters [for the eight professions] (even though we are only allowed 5 at the beginning).... then I have to figure out if I should just buy 3 extra character slots right at launch If you know you are an altaholic it is best that you create all 5 character's (for the given slots) right at the start of launch. The reason for this is 2 fold. One is to reserve a good name that you want (before someone takes it). The other is that there will likely be anniversary gifts (and it'll be nice to get your gifts on the same day with all your characters). Some may say - well it is going to take me hours to create all those characters..... Sure it will if you have fun with it..... but you can also create the character to reserve the name then delete it (you'll still have your name since it is unlikely that someone will steal it as you recreate the character)..... later to spend more time on the creation aspects of the character later on
The other is that there will likely be anniversary gifts

But not anniversary gifts.BB,ChaseBona Dea UbumeTeam BonambrotiniBirthday gifts are something that ANet gave in GW1 so many people (including Voa and myself) assume it is going to be in GW2. Essentially, a birthday gift appears in your inventory every year on the date that character was created. The first 6 years were minis and the 7th was a random tonic that changed you into a character or creature. It's one of those little things that GW vets are used to expecting but will be a giant dissappointment if it isn't carried over into GW2.
Birthday time was my favorite time of year! I loved logging into all my chars and getting my mini...was very disappointed this year with the tonics (maybe because I got lame ones). I'd be upset if they didn't have something similar in GW2, and I don't see why they wouldn't carry over the tradition of celebrating the anniversary of your characters.
Ah, so you assume that a feature from GW1, that I too am familiar with, will be in GW2. So by this assumption, you say that taking up space, which wouldn't be taking up space to an alt-o-holic, will increase long-term speculated gain. Gotchya. I didn't know what was being discussed was the anniversary birthday gifts from GW1. I've played Guild Wars essentially since release. I speculate that they will do something similar in Guild Wars 2, but I wouldn't take such an extreme position to assume something as that, just because I'm not much of an extreme person to make assumptions without some sort of definitive cue from Arena Net.

You can actually skip all the character generation just to reserve the name. Besides - what would be the difference between a created character holding a slot vs a blank slot (since it can be so easily deleted)?
If I remember correctly, GW saved the name of a character for 1 hour after you delete it so you could recreate it. This was very useful for PvP characters that you could reroll a few times in one evening if your group needed a different class (I certainly did this some times). Hopefully this carries over to GW2, even though the PvP specific characters is gone.
In Guild Wars, names are reserved for at least 24 hours after a character is deleted, however ArenaNet has not confirmed whether the same system will be in place for Guild Wars 2. During beta testing, names were reserved for at least four hours and less than thirty.
