Personal Story Times?
« on: August 10, 2012, 11:02:06 AM »
Just had an idea, like to fly it by you.

How about saving up personal stories and do them as groups?  With so many different stories, I would like to see the personal stories of others in the guild.

Not sure how to do this.. set up a time (or two) each day where  for just an hour or two we form groups and advance personal stories.  I guess this would be limited to the group size, so the groups would hopefully be a bit fluid from day to day.

Any other ideas on how to share the personal story lines?

Fiera, 42 Vanguard tank          Rek, 12 Juggernaut tank
Edgge, 50 Scoundrel dps          Wi'la, 11 Sorcerer dps
Jerin, 35 Sentinal               Kerat, 21 Bodyguard
Cres, 39 Commando dps
Leity, 15 Gunslinger
Tisa, 35 Shadow tank

Ok... to share your personal story with friends...

- you (the one sharing the story) have to be the leader of the party
- invite along up to four of your friends
- enter the instanced area where the story is, this will send a prompt to the others in the party asking if they would like to join (this is on a timer by the way)
- once everyone is good to go, the party will be moved to the leaders personal story instance
- the personal story instance does scale with the number of people there
- if you or someone in the party is higher level than the personal story they will be down-leveled so as to not steamroll the content

Edit (some stuff I forgot):
- let's say that you and I Woode are grouped up and we are both Humans between levels 1-10 and we both picked the Nobility option during character creation. If we are at the same point in the story line and I'm helping you, the game will prompt and ask me if I would like to progress my story as well. I can either choose to accept or deny this if I want to come back at a later time to do it by myself.

And I do feel this would be a nice idea, it would allow you to see all the different choices of how a characters story plays out.

Heh I was actually thinking this too, but having different options like rp group for an hour or so a week, story exploration, etc. I have a google document and form ready too. I'll have to do it when I get home though, at work now. :P

I'd love to do this but 1-2 hours a day is more time that I will have in GW2 let alone just focused on the story.  What I've been thinking of is saving my story for the end of each level bracket (e.g. Blood Legion story for when I'm around level 9) and if i do this I might invite others along to experience that story.  I know I'd love to see all the other storylines so I assume others will as well.

Good idea with the level bracket thing! I wish I had that form handy!!!! >_> I think like once a week would be good, then if people get busy they will only miss one or two. :)

Even if I miss a few, I'm sure there will be videos of the cutscenes posted on youtube before long.

Very good ideas. I'm kind of a lore junkie and would love to get in on this. I've got a bunch of catching up to do because I didn't get in on GW1. :(

I agree that once a day is too much in the long term.  But I was thinking to set up a time on Saturday and Sunday, the 25th and 26th, as a kind of a break from solo exploration, and as a part of the opening celebration.  I'm still confused as to the starting time though.  I see midnight, but the counter on the GW2 site still shows noon.  When the game starts will have an impact on Saturdays time.
