Booms you are loving Tera.  The combat is pretty similar to Tera...only difference in Tera is you don't really target.   But it feels really similar to Tera to me.  When I have my flame thrower out I can really just aim the fire where ever and hit them.

As for lag.  The only lag we experienced was in the Eternal Battlegrounds and I take that into account that it was the Stress test.  They told us we might experience lag, thats the only place it was lagging.  Lag in the stream was pretty much my computer having too much crap going on.  I was playing the game at full graphics, streaming, and watching the stream in HD.  So my computer was taking a big hit.  As soon as I stopped streaming, my system lag stopped.  I probably should have lowered the graphics a little to be able to stream.

It just seems every video i watch 60% of the combat is people spamming 1 button. Being able to twist weapons in combat (dont even know if you can do this) may add a bit more depth. It just seems like having 5 moves, 4 of which have cooldowns is too simple for a tab/lock on target game.

That and playing the crap out of warhammer for 6 months has me a little burnt from this type of siege system. We must have taken roughly 50 keeps a week over a 6 month period, that is like 1200+ keeps captured. 50% of the time you are sieging you are beating on the same object/door. So needless to say I've experienced the mechanics of the pvp system in this game thoroughly.

It isn't that much of a money sink though so who knows I may give it a shot if im bored and world pvp isn't in swtor yet.

Booms, my only advice to you: try it out. You may like, you may not, the game honestly isn't for everyone.

As for the skills, most people don't know what all their weapon skills do so they default to spamming '1' which has no cool down and ignore 2-5. Really do have to pay attention to the combat situation and know when to use which skill since some do have long cool downs.

Also, keep in mind you can switch between two weapon sets. I've been playing a Ranger in the April Event and this recent stress test and usually I'm running around with a Longbow and a Sword/Warhorn equipped. Allows me to switch between melee and ranged combat based on the situation I find myself in.

You'll have fun Booms.  Plus isn't Tera kind of the same 1 button spamming while others are on cooldown?

also, button 1 is a 3 step chain attack for the classes I played. some of the 3rd steps heal or give a buff/debuff of some kind.

It can be turned off.

Auto attack can be set for any of the five weapon skills by clicking control and right clicking the skill.

Ah, good to know! Though I would guess that's why it looks like people are spamming 1.

Yeh I'll probably try it out to see what it is like in the end.

And fyi Airic Tera has a combo system, I use about 14 moves in pve and 8 in pvp. My main combo rotation is 6 moves and I still am missing about 25% of my stuff due to being lower level. Couple that with having to aim every single move and it gets pretty complicated, especially in pvp when your target is dodging.

So can you rotate weapons in combat in this game?

Once every 10 seconds.  Some classes have traits to lower that down to 5 I think.

If you're not swapping every 10-15s you're doing it wrong!

Or if you're an Elementalist like me, you get four different attunements (Water, Fire, Air, Earth) and each attunement has five skills. I can't switch weapons, though.
