I know Martini threw this out in a previous thread as a jest, but I am serious about getting The Guardians and the community together for a monthly fashion show!  I will find a location suitable for the event, depending on scale of interest/popularity it is definitely subject to change. This is what jumped into my head for a Lion's Arch setting, small-medium turn out.



Having people walk around the entire room on the red carpet, flexing or dancing on the balcony/stage as your character wishes, then taking a seat in the audience in the middle.

First off, why would you want to participate? This game does not offer a lot of stat gear for endgame, rather it supports good looking gear with similar stats as easier to get gear. This is a good venue to show off your prowess and skill with coordinating colours. Maybe there was a difficult questchain for a fantastic helm that you want to show off to people. Maybe you just want to have a chance to compete against friends and win prizes (to be decided)!

What would you be judged on? Voa suggested these areas, on a 1-10 scale:

1.Creativity ----- How creative the outfit is.
2. Theme -------- If the outfit goes together in a theme.
3. Colors -------- How well the color scheme goes together.
4. Originality ----- Instead of just buying store bought costumes - how unique the outfit is.
5. Rarity ---------How rare the costume items are and more points would be awarded by how hard the item is to get.

I agree on all of these points. Remember this is FOR FUN! You can be as unoriginal as a level 2 in town clothes if you so desire, and you'll get your moment to shine! Lots of opportunity for role-playing as well.

I also will need help with the judging process. It is my personal opinion that Martini, Bona, and Victoriella would make great judges; but I am not familiar with every guildy on these forums! If this sounds like something you'd like to participate in please let me know in a comment! I would like 3 total judging each event and would probably only entail you writing your scores in party chat with the other judges so that I can tally it up!

I think it would be fun to end the show with a conga line around Lion's Arch, perhaps led by the winner(s).

So this is what I need from you guys, opinions!
I fully intend on planning this event after GW2 launches even if there is a lack of initial interest. I need to know what to plan for so that it is fun for everybody involved. I need to know who wants to judge, and I need to know what you'd like to win in the prize pool.  I'm very excited about planning this for everyone, and remember it'll just be the last Friday of every month or a similar time.

EDIT: Thinking that creativity and originality are pretty much the same category (or closely linked), and I'd probably merge the two.

I just thought it was kind of catchy. When I was writing it out I noticed TGF(ashion show) together and figured making it a TGIF event would help it stick in one's mind!  I figure Friday and Saturday would be strong contenders for when the majority of people would be playing. If this is not the case I'll be sure to switch it up. I am not going to worry about this too much as the game has yet to launch and I'll have lots of time to figure out finer details such as times once people know the month (probably 7 server time- usually a good time for most of the guild).

This sounds like so much fun.   I will help with judging for sure.   

Themes such as water/beach, formal, undead, seasonal, pirate, ninja, princess, fairy, rainbow, superhero, bada$$, cross-class etc. Whatever theme you come up with and how well you pull it off! I'm sure we'll do a sign-up with some of your basic info so that we can announce you to the crowd properly =). I feel that anyone who wants to step up despite not signing up would be able to be added at the end of the list during the event.

Maybe after a few successful events we can add a recommended theme, such as a Christmas/winter fashion show.  I think it'll take a few months for people to get more interesting gear so it doesn't make sense to limit it early on.

 I don't want to leave anyone out that wants to parade about!

I of course am willing to judge if needed, but can see that we have a few who really want to judge so I'll just be the event coordinator/ hostess with the mostest.
