That's definitely my concern as well.  The year that I played WoW was a year where I didn't really play anything else, and I missed out on a few good games as a result.

Well, so much for playing the single player first.  It's online only!  Even characters are saved in the cloud. And I only just read about the real money auction house.  They are even considering letting accounts put characters up for sale there.

Personally I see no problem with that myself. When I'm done with the game I would like to see some money for my effort. The only people who complain about this seem to be the people with lots of time and they don't want money to compete with their epeens.

Just because the characters are saved online doesn't mean that you're barred from playing through the game sans homies.  You're free to do your own thing until you are ready, or want, to join others.  I don't mind the online aspect at all.  Plus, that means that anything you pick up, you can trade or sell!

Oh, I love that part too.  I'm just disappointed there won't be an offline mode.  I really liked playing through the first two titles offline before venturing onto Battlenet.

Battle.net chat rooms go across all games now... I chat with people playing SC2 while I'm in WoW sometimes.  This is why they forced everyone into battle.net accounts.
