I'll take 1 v1 battles in any class ship for varying amounts. Not going to do 100mil for frigates tho. I like cruisers and bigger but will go for anything.

Curious now...does anyone have a link to a good Ship and Outfit for PvP? I want to start researching it a bit.

What race and ship class (frigate, cruiser, etc) are you wanting to PVP in?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. What is considered "The Best" or "One of the Best". I'm thinking of making an alt that is strictly PvP, just not sure how to go about it in this game. I'm got a path set for Mission running and Mining on my main already.

If ya need help you can always check out EVE University: http://www.eveuniversity.org/

Tons of articles related to the game and they have an entire section detailing different ways to fit ships for each faction.

Also... Inferno (Expansion #17) has been announced as having a release date of May 22. (http://www.eveonline.com/inferno/)

By the way this expansion makes me really happy as a Caldari pilot since missiles and their launchers have been completely revamped to be brought in line with the revamped turrets.

There is no such thing as best of the best. Every ship has a counter and a lot of ships are fit differently.

If you give us your intentions and race for pvp I can probably get you some good fits for frigates/cruisers/battle cruisers.

Eve university is ok, but honestly completely unnecessary when you have icksbin, Beenie and myself here :p
We have been playing eve actively and semi actively for a long time! ( 2006 for me )

Yeah, every race has potential to be good at PVP, though the masses tend to view Minmatar as the supreme PVP race, mostly because they don't really have to worry about cap. However, I run exclusively Caldari and use a rocket Kessie as my frigate for PVP and it works just fine. Just requires a different set of strategies.

So yeah, pretty much exactly what Nautix said, what's your preference in race? Are you wanting to do solo roam PVP or big fleet PVP? Or are you just ganking haulers? :D

minmitar is the current "best" for pvp because it has the best damage projection.  btw, while missiles are pretty, they are slow and can be outrun, guns provide instant dmg. if u and i shoot at the same time, i hit first and win  ;D

I agree. Rockets are nice for customizing the kind of damage you do, though. Plus they aren't as slow as missiles, though their range sucks.

Missiles in PVP are only good for 100KM+ snipe fights between big ships IMO, unless you're using HAMs.

Oh man SCREW FoF. I've gotten Concordokken so many times because I forget I've loaded FoF and go blasting away and hit like a stray asteroid or habitat or civilian or something.
