Sounders, there is a difference between playing through and hating ME3's ending which everyone has a right to, and playing through and hating ME3's ending and then demanding that BioWare provide an alternate ending as if it's a God-given right to have an ending that is satisfactory. The people who fit the former are 100% in the right, while the people who fall under the latter category are the ones that I speak of. Filing FTC complaints because they disliked the ending? I can't be the only one who find that over-the-top and ridiculous.

I love the gameplay, I can't remember a moment that I was bored in combat. But my feeling on this game is that it lacks in story content.

*Spoiler*

On my renegade char I let the counsil die during the battle for the citadel in ME1, just to see the same council in ME3 be replaced by just another turian, asari and salarian, and humanity is still second classed.

I'm not gonna demand a refund or anything, but I'm just disappointed of the lack of differentness between my paragon and renegade character in story.

That's just for the story and like I said before, I had a great time during the missions itself, the combat felt good and of course it's awesome to kill big enemies :)

Udina was a councilor too, and I specifically had picked Anderson to be the next one in ME1
How yes no!

It's explained why that is in the game btw, but I guess everyone is just too busy complaining and jumping on the bandwagon to pay attention to the little details and explanations they give in the game.

Also, Oawa, as a fellow Eva fan, we should both know that artistic endings can be changed.

I doubt Mac Walters was suffering from severe depression at the time he wrote the ending and ran out of money, but I hear what you're saying.

No, just that they did different endings and continue to revise the sequences (even if they are the same, they tell it from different perspectives).

You are, of course, correct. -JC

I have not played ME3 yet, but will be... though this all sounds like a Stephen King Novel (which always have sad endings... 'the Mist' anyone). I will reserve any judgment until I have experienced it for myself, but I wanted a little bit of an idea of what all the murmur was about.

All I can say is it is BW's Intellectual Property and they can write it how they see fit.  I have not heard of people writing in trying to get Stephen King to change an ending to one of his stories.

Has Stephen King ever been half way done and decide to call Tom Clancy in to finish?

That Mac W finished this and not Drew K is a travesty and the likely cause of crap ending

Not that I know of. Though point taken, and agreed.

Never complained just gave my opinion, you can look through my older posts ;)

As a matter of fact I think the ending was actually really good.

Mac Walters was lead writer for both Mass Effect 2 and 3. Both games (all three actually) had multiple writers contributing. Not sure how reasonable it is to tie in all the woes to a single person, hehe.

I'm with the "Indoctrination" crew.

Gotta love the way it's put together in this video...

In the Animal House video, I think Garrus' and Liara's were the funniest. I remember laughing out loud when I was able to go around to every store in Zakera Ward in ME2 and tell them they were my favorite store for a discount.

SPOILERS

While I personally think the logic behind that video's support of the indoctrination theory is really badly thought out and doesn't even make sense half the time, I am partially also invested in the theory myself. And it's only for one reason: In my ending, Shepard lived. There is no way he could've lived through the Crucible blowing up in his face, much less the entire Citadel getting destroyed... unless he was never actually on the Citadel.

Most of the theorycraft out there about the indoctrination theory is just guess work and fantasy, but I found it hard to explain Shepard living any other way. So maybe BioWare will run will that angle. However, it feels too much like a cheap deux ex machina, and even if BW meant it to be this way from the get go, will end up looking like a cop out.
