I got a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet for my last year in school. It was so fantastic, that I got a new one just a few months ago. If you don't want to get a convertible tablet, try looking at the Samsung Slate, I've seen a lot of guys I work with using them and enjoying them. The ability to use a stylus to mark up PDFs and take notes is AMAZING! Microsoft really did a great job with OneNote. I can't stress enough how amazing OneNote is if you have a tablet with a stylus. I took all my calc notes on my tablet. For all the PDFs I had, I was able to mark them up directly, and it was all organized!
If you really want an Android tablet, consider the Galaxy Note Tablet, again it has the stylus built in, but it is a great piece of hardware.
TLDR, get something that can run OneNote!!!
