Hey, if anyone wants to get rid of grade 1 or 2 metals and researched compounds I am making guns and all that good stuff; could also use schematics as well (both arms and armor, but low level ones or whatever).  This is all going into the guild bank when we have one and anyone can have whatever they want for whoever they want.  Just want to build the highest graded stuff for each level so we can all have an advantage.  Any and all donations can be made to Atin on the republic server; I'll be doing one for the Sith server when I get back to the dark side.

Also if anyone knows if I can still make blue and then purple items after the base item has turned grey, please let me know.  Like I said I want our guild to have the best of the best when it comes to items that they can use.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Simple crafting info
« on: December 31, 2011, 03:18:27 PM »
I came across this by looking for some other info about archaeology and would have been really nice to have when selecting my crafting stuff.  Thought it might help some of the others who have questions about crafting and how the gathering skills go with the crafting ones.  I know there was a flow chart originally, but the written version works well for me.  lol

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Collector's Edition thoughts...
« on: December 20, 2011, 11:04:10 PM »
Ok, so I am not trying to be overly critical about the CE of the game and want to know what other owners are thinking about the quality of the physical items.

The book and cd are awesome, listened to the cd all the way home and my ears are still ringing. But the key code thing is becoming more of a pain than I really care for, security is one thing paranoia is another.(I have never been hacked before so it might explain a little) The statue is one I am questioning because it doesn't seem like the same quality as was displayed in some pics. It looks cool, but not as detailed as I expected. As for the in game items I haven't used them too much other than watching the Twi'lik dance.

Let me hear your thoughts.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let my fellow Guardians (family) know that I will probably be taking a few days off because of a mental health emergency; had an anxiety attack that turned out pretty bad.  Nothing illegal or the like, but it is just something that I need to handle and it will probably take a few days to sort out and do what needs to be done.  I feel this is something I wanted to share with my family and let you know that if I am not in game or responding to the forums, I'm not ignoring you guys I just am away from everything going on.  Hope this doesn't throw a wrench into anything and I'll make sure to develop my character to the proper specs ASAP.  Also though I love the guild and am honored to be in it, I am willing to accept the choice of being asked to leave to allow other members in; hopefully this won't happen.

Thank you everyone,
Bane

First things first, I have no idea about hardware specs--none.  I have a Toshiba Satellite M645 and it has INtel (R) HD Graphics and the chip is Intel (R) HD Graphics (Core i5).  Am I able to replace the graphics card or whatever to make SWTOR run better?  I was talking to a friend and he said I can't replace the card, but I really don't want to buy a new laptop since I picked this one up in April.  He said something about updating the drivers but when I went to Toshiba it was $30-40 to download the program to get the drivers.  Now I don't mind spending the money to get the program if it will improve my computer, but I don't want to spend more than I have to right now.  Any ideas?

When I am playing SWTOR I have problems when I go inside buildings only, when I am outside it is fine and works very well.  I thought it was just because I needed to have the game in the computer, never had a problem with WoW on my other laptop, so I might be switching; but that one is 6-7 years old already.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / SWTOR FIGURE PRINTS
« on: December 07, 2011, 07:32:34 AM »
Been thinking about this for a while now and would like to get everyone's opinion about getting a Figure Print. I didn't order one for WoW, but have heard positive and negative feedback about them (i.e. expensive, no worth the money, dull colors). They look really cool, however I have been fooled before.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Need advice about my Bounty Hunter crafting
« on: December 06, 2011, 03:32:42 AM »
Ok, so I am going to have my main character be a Bounty Hunter Mercenary and I am looking at what would be beneficial to craft--for the guild and me.  I am really digging the Armormech more than the Armstech since it seems like I can't build a blaster in the game to save my life.  lol  Anyways from the graph that Mysteeria provided, it looks like Scavenging and Underworld trading would be the best gathering and mission skills to use with Armormech.

Since this is really my first MMO with a fully developed guild, I would like some feedback to if this would be beneficial or not.  Slicing looks like it might be a really good way to make money too and I would be open to completing that instead of a crafting skill since I don't care much about crafting in the first place.  I can either provide materials for our guild or make stuff, it makes no difference to me.  Any ideas and suggestions would be welcome.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Thanksgiving
« on: November 25, 2011, 12:07:11 AM »
Hey everyone, just wanted to wish you all a great Thanksgiving and a happy beta weekend.  I didn't see anyone start a Thanksgiving thread, so I figured I would go ahead and partake in the beginning of one.

I am thankful for being with a bunch of wonderful people who are very friendly and available to help me with questions about the game and creating a wonderful signature.  I am also very thankful to have access to being in the beta this weekend and having 21 days before early release.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Twas the night before beta
« on: November 24, 2011, 10:10:22 PM »
Twas the night before Beta and all through the house,
Everyone was stirring, even the droid we call mouse.
Our lightsabers were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Darth Malgus would soon be there.
The younglings were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions from the Force danced in their heads.
And Vette in her lekku, and I with my cap,
Has just settled down for a long Hoth-like nap. ;-)

Remember: It's not your sister if you don't know... :P

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Crafting and supplies for the guild
« on: November 20, 2011, 09:00:37 PM »
Since I am new to the guild, I was curious how I contributed to the guild by crafting and providing materials.  Is it percentage-wise or based on a quota, etc.?  I know this is kinda early and a real noob question but I want to make sure I am able to do my part and then try to exceed if possible.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Sith Philosophy and information
« on: November 16, 2011, 01:43:14 AM »
Hello everyone,

I am thinking about writing some information about the Sith philosophy from a character's point of view, kinda like a Lord teaching their apprentice.  I am asking for any information that can be added to Nautix's posting about how to play as a Sith.  Much of the information I have comes from the Darth Bane series and many of the other books that focus a large part on Sith lords or discuss the Sith philosophy.

As for sticking with the character concept--a Sith Lord--I think I'll use riddles and information that might have some conflicting stances, but will ultimately pass on many of the secrets of the Sith Philosophy.  If you have any information just pass it on and if you would like to read it I will post the writing within a few days or so to share with everyone else.  Also let me know if this sounds like a waste of time because I don't want to develop something and it not be of any use for The Guardians; it just sounds like fun and I am not busy doing anything right now, so it will entertain me a bit.

Thanks for your help.  Finally, if you have some idea of where you got the info I would like to know so I can cite the information.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Decking out your toon
« on: November 15, 2011, 12:36:55 AM »
Is anyone else thinking about seeing if SWTOR will offer beskar'gam (Mandalorian armor) for BH or any other characters?  I think it would be really cool to customize my character with beskar'gam and of course using black and gold would serve a double purpose: guild colors and then for justice and revenge as per the Republic Commando series.  Personally I really hope you can apply it to other classes--like Sith Warriors or Republic Troopers--so that I can add a personal touch on those characters as well.

How cool would that be to have a Sith warrior with a nice cloak covering beskar'gam?  Maybe I am just nerding it up too much?   :-\

Or maybe even some Katarn Armor for the trooper?

Applicant Introductions / Introduction for application
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:38:07 PM »
Hello everyone,

My name is Thomas Martin and I am applying to The Guardians guild because I have the same interests and values that are listed in the charter.  I am looking for a guild who have long-term goals in mind and are willing to help me out in learning about how to play MMOs since I have very limited experience.  The previous MMO game I played was WoW and had a level 35 character which took a long time to achieve since the guild I belonged to fell apart due to scheduling conflicts.  This was one thing I was pretty concerned about because I want to contribute as much as I am able to, however I will be having a pretty demanding schedule come next month since I will be starting Graduate school.  The benefit I have will be that all my classes are online and I won't have to travel or do any internships for about nine months; so I should have some time to be able to help contribute to the guild and learn from other members.

A little bit about me, I am a die-hard fan of Star Wars and am ecstatic about the up-coming game.  I look forward to crafting and contributing to guild members who would like to have the equipment I am making or anything that would benefit their character more than mine and would like to trade or if I can just give it to them I will.  The information I have collected from the game focuses on my main character which is a Sith Warrior, though I do plan on trying out other characters both on the empire and the republic sides.  Personally I enjoy being with a mature set of people who are willing to help new comers and are very friendly; this is something I have already experienced from one member in great detail (thank you Sounders_fan).  I feel that by having a friendly environment that is supportive of others learning is essential in having a positive experience within a guild and this is all I have seen with The Guardians.  As far as abilities and characteristics, I am willing to learn and play roles that will benefit as many people as possible.  Since I learn pretty quick, I am also willing to help guide other members or pass on tips that can help them accomplish their goals.

Some other general characteristics I will be bringing to the table will be my loyalty and honor which I hope will then turn into camaraderie with other members.  This will take some time, though I know that by forging together with others I will build friendships with the people I interact with.  The only way to do this is to put in time with the guild.  I am also pretty friendly and easy to talk to while also willing to help others as much as I can, yet I firmly believe that a person has to want to be helped and is willing to put in time to accomplish their goals.  If you have any questions or would like to know me a little more just let message me and I will answer them ASAP.

Thank you for the opportunity to be able to join in on the fun.

Thomas
