I'm SO USED to 3rd person... I don't know if I could get used to 1st person view.:P Guess time will tell!

We can train you, I'm all for setting up a training night in ESO or the other ES games and walking you through 3rd person combat

I used 3rd person quite a bit for Skyrim playing a battlemage type toon.  Better than 1st person for defense/awareness.  Worked much better than trying to 3rd person in Oblivion.

I'd normally flip to 1st person only for ranged combat.

Also this 100% Oblivion 3rd person was messy and only good if you modded it.

I vote they add first person ONLY in PvP and also include your helmet in your field of view so you are limited to only seeing what the cut outs in your helmet would allow.

Would be pretty legit, though a caster would have an advantage by just putting their cowl down. Honestly, I think the 3rd person will be a pretty cool thing for RvR

But, MMO ESO Chivalry combat!

Still doable, and I'm pretty 100% hand/weapon/spells will be in. But, using that in pvp will cripple you pretty bad for situationial awareness Lana

I screamed this into the winter air and now a bunch of dragons want to join our guild.  They are having a real hard time with the app process though as their claws make it hard to type.

I told them there's no way they are getting invited unless they answer ALL the application questions.  Rules are rules.

That's fair, some of them can scream words into the ground though. So we are going to need to build a tower for the RO so they can see the whole app on the ground from above. Oh, and learn Dovah...

It seems from the interview there main concern is people playing in first person while in the open world pvp. If you have ever played DAOC and this system seems to be MAJORLY developed around the DAOC rvr system, paning your camera around you while you are running through the areas is extremely important or you could get ambushed easily.

Also, the single player elder scrolls game relied on combat from first person because its to hard to swing a sword, use magic or fire an arrow if you don't know where your aiming. ESO will have a "soft tab target" system, like any other MMO but instead of pushing one button to auto attack you still have to swing your weapon, fire an arrow, shoot a fireball individually with each click. Seems to be a mix of a traditional mmo system with tab target and the single player experience of having to click to use a single attack.

Pretty much, 3rd person for all fights  1st person for keep siege because you would lag to death if you didn't...plus that hallway up to the lord was small so it would force it down anyway.

I'm all in for it, 3rd is vastly superior for RvR and I have been playing in 3rd a bit in Skyrim and it has been working great. Plus...it looks awesome.

As many of you know I am a huge Elder Scrolls nerd, in anticipation of our upcoming journey into the forgotten eras of Tamriel I have heavily modified the "Dragonborn Comes" for The Guardians into the Dovah language! Many of the words I had to change, which was a lot, I had to translate myself with the aid of the handy dandy Elder Scroll wikis! Feel free to shout this from your home with as many buddies as possible!
Best done to the tune of that awesome Skyrim main theme.
