The camera came with an 18-55 lens, which is pretty shiny. However, I find myself really wanting to zoom more. I was talking to someone who I've done a bit of photography with, and he suggested an 18-200 lens for me. They are *cough* rather expensive *cough choke*, but I think it would probably be a great lens for me. That said, I need to do some more reading about them as it looks like zoom lenses can have some problems with distortion. I have plenty of room to grow with this one, so I have time to save up funds and do more research.

Thank you for all of your help! Almost two weeks ago now (wow, time flies), I was near a photography shop so I stopped in to ask questions. I'd already been to a couple stores that sell cameras, but I needed to ask questions from a photography salesperson. They were great at answering questions, and spent quite some time with me. The research I'd done paid off, as I had a clue about what was being said and was able to tell when the DSLR sales person didn't really know about mirrorless cameras (which she admitted after I asked another question or two, suggesting I talk to the other rep for info on those). She was great at answering my DSLR questions.

I went with the Sony NEX 5R and have really been enjoying it. I will be posting pictures soon, but I keep getting distracted by SWTOR. I have an hour lesson as part of the purchase of the camera. I'm hoping to take that in the next week, though I might wait till later in July so I can experiment a bit more. Plus I got a nice bag for it, making it easy to carry it on my walks after work to get the daily shots in that Gobnil mentioned.

Smuggler/Sage combo. Need someone to make yellow puddles and blow bubbles...
