As promised, here is a guide to prot paladins for Mists of Pandaria!
TALENTSTalents were a HUGE change in this patch. Instead of having more than 30 points to do with as we please, we have 6, and there is no set in stone path for everyone.
The base Tanking spec for Protection Paladins is as follows:
Pursuit of Justice
Fist of Justice
Sacred Shield
Unbreakable Spirit
Holy Avenger
Execution SentencePursuit of Justice, Fist of Justice, and
Unbreakable Spirit are your utility spells, and may be swapped out with other spells in that tier to better facilitate your particular play style and needs.
Holy Avenger, Execution Sentence, and
Sacred Shield improve your survivability and threat, and therefore are more heavily suggested.
GLYPHSThe Glyph system was also something that was changed dramatically in this patch. Prime glyphs were done away with. Major glyphs were changed to make there be consequences of the ones you picked, and lots of new [and fantastically silly] minor glyphs were added. As minor glyphs are entirely up to whatever suits your fancy, I will only post what I would recommend for the major glyphs here.
Glyph of the Alabaster Shield -I really recommend this as a standard glyph for you, it gives you a solid damage [which = threat to a tank] increase in all fights.
Glyph of Consecration -This is an optional/situational glyph. It has great utility for dealing with a lot of adds.
Glyph of Divine Protection - This is definitely a situational glyph, but one that all tanks should have in their arsenal. It is good for fights that have mostly physical damage instead of straight magic damage. [Note, this glyph does pretty much the exact OPPOSITE of what it did during Cataclysm, go go Blizzard doing crazy things to us]
Glyph of Final Wrath - This is an optional glyph, it allows you to push through that execution phase, and allows you to generate extra threat to help compensate for that crazy mage that just decided to pop timewarp in the last clutches of the fight.
Glyph of Focused Shield - This is the opposite of
Glyph of Consecration as it improves your threat when single target tanking
Glyph of Harsh Words - This gives you slightly more utility when off tanking, and gives you something else to do with your holy power if it is really burning a hole in your pocket [must be pretty hardcore to burn through those plate britches...]
ROTATIONThese buffs should be maintained at ALL times
Seal of Truth or
Seal of Righteousness
Righteous Fury
Sacred ShieldYou should also have either

Holy Wrath COOLDOWNSExecution Sentence -Use on cooldown for additional threat [requires Talent]
Holy Avenger-Use this to spam the snot out of
Shield of the Righteous for a burst in threat [and survivability! yaaaaay!]
Ardent Defender-Use this before you die...so you don't
Avenging Wrath-Use for a large threat boost
Devotion Aura-Raid wide cooldown, use when healer/raid leader asks
Divine Protection-Use before receiving a large amount of Magic damage [or physical if you use the glyph]
Divine Shield-You can use this to remove DoTs and debuffs, however, you must cancel it immediately, as it drops your aggro.
Guardian of Ancient Kings-Use before receiving a large amount of damage
Lay on Hands-Saves your butt. Big time. Coordinate with healer before using so they don't waste a huge cooldown on you at the same time.
Reckoning-It's a taunt, use it to establish threat on targets not attacking you, like that add over there, inappropriately touching your healer...
STAT PRIORITYAt this point in the game, everyone should be reforging/gemming towards survivability as the gear isn't so great. Later into the expansion, you can switch to a threat scheme if you prefer.
Survival
Stamina > Parry > Dodge > Mastery > Melee Hit (7.5%) > Haste > Expertise (7.5%)Threat
Stamina > Melee Hit (7.5%) > Expertise (15%) > Mastery > Haste > Parry > DodgeThat should get you started, I'll come back and give you more information about Gemming, Enchanting, and Reforging later, but if you follow your stat priority, you should be dandy!
Happy Tanking.
