Official US Site: http://us.bladeandsoul.com/en/Community Site: http://www.bladeandsouldojo.comNews Article: http://www.bladeandsouldojo.com/news/90-ncsoft-confirms-western-development/SEATTLE - SEPTEMBER 13, 2012: NCsoft, the world's premier publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), today confirms its Western expansion plans for Blade & Soul, the wildly successful Asian martial arts fantasy MMO developed by Team Bloodlust, an in-house studio based in NCsoft's headquarters in Seoul. Blade & Soul has already captured the hearts of millions, consistently ranking as one of the top games in PC cafés across South Korea since its launch eleven weeks ago, and plans to reach the same level of success and popularity in Western markets.
Blade & Soul brings MMO and RPG gaming communities an online world rich in Asian martial arts, a theme that has traditionally been limited to fighting games. Once Blade & Soul launches in the West, players will have the ability to experience the flowing nature of action martial arts that they have come to love, but will experience it in a modern format blended together with deep story lines and an epic online world populated by millions.
Bringing to life the fantasy style and signature character movement made popular by the classic martial arts adventure films House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Blade & Soul embraces the essence of historic martial arts combat, set in a beautiful world inspired by the stunning art of renowned artist Hyung-Tae Kim, Team Bloodlust's Blade & Soul lead artist. Kim's strong international manga following and his unique style of blending Japanese anime and Korean art will expand Blade & Soul's appeal to a broad range of audiences.
Exact release timing for Blade & Soul has not been confirmed, but NCsoft is already aggressively tailoring the title for Western players, working closely with Team Bloodlust to ensure the rich Asian martial arts theme stays intact.
A little blurb from NCSoft West about censorship: This is an exciting time for us as we can now use our official website, Twitter feed, and Facebook page to share information and provide status updates on the development of Blade & Soul® for Western audiences. We will use these platforms as a way to not only distribute official assets and information, but to directly address community concerns. With that in mind, we wanted to take a moment to shed some light on rumors that NCsoft West is censoring the content of Blade & Soul.
As you know, Blade & Soul features a rich, beautiful world inspired by the artistic style of Hyung-Tae Kim, an internationally renowned artist we consider ourselves fortunate to be working with. Hyung-Tae Kim brings with him a very recognizable and risqué anime style that, combined with the game's deep storyline and modern martial arts style combat, delivers a game experience like no other.
Due to ESRB guidelines, however, our marketing material must abide by a different set of considerations than the final product. This is why Blade & Soul's rating is listed as "pending." It is NCsoft West's intention to accurately depict the game in its original, unaltered form, with only minor adjustments for gameplay considerations.
In short: We are not planning to censor or alter the actual in-game content you have come to expect from an artist such as Hyung-Tae Kim and a studio such as Team Bloodlust. Rest assured that we love Blade & Soul as much as you do, and any modifications to the marketing material are not indicative of our plans for the final content.
We appreciate your concern, and we hope that we've helped set your minds at ease. We're very excited about bringing Blade & Soul to Western audiences, and we intend to do our best to deliver the game you want to play.
-- Blade & Soul Team, NCsoft West

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/chris-whiteside-on-the-lost-shores-and-beyond/Greetings Heroes of Tyria,
Last weekend we released our free Lost Shores mini-expansion, which introduced a new level 80 map, a brand new PvP map, over 400 new items and rewards, as well as The Fractals of the Mists—an infinite dungeon that increases in difficulty the deeper you progress.
We’re very excited about the new content, and from the reactions we have seen, so are many of you. Players have already spent an incredible amount of time in the new Fractals dungeon, and their reaction to it has been phenomenal. A lot of players really enjoyed the trailblazing aspect of unveiling the new Southsun Cove map, specifically the feeling of discovery and being part of the land grab.
Having said that, we’re also aware that there were certain aspects of the event that could have worked better than they did, and thanks to your excellent feedback we’ll be working toward strengthening this type of content moving forward. At ArenaNet, we always try to push the boundaries of how we build online worlds, and we thank you for your patience and collaboration as we pioneer into unknown territories. We’ve seen people saying that they really liked the principle of using events to unveil new content, but we need to tighten up the methods by which they are deployed. We take these comments to heart, as it is our goal to always deliver content of the highest quality.
We want to extend a huge “thank you” to all of the players who attended the Lost Shores event over the weekend. We really enjoyed playing with you all and we learned a great deal about the broad spectrum of content we offered. Our sincere thanks for all your feedback and for being part of the journey as we continue to build upon the world of Guild Wars 2. Here’s a general rundown of what we are working towards over the upcoming months:
- Revamping all of our existing dungeons (Story and Explorable versions) through rebalance and overhauled encounters. - Adding new dungeons to the Fractal of the Mists. - Adding more variation to creatures, enhancing our open world scaling system, as well as evolving many events and experiences across Tyria. - Fixing and improving existing content throughout the game, and better tying it into the overall sense of player progression within Guild Wars 2. - Building on the Southsun Cove’s persistent content. - Adding new Guild content and Guild progression features. - Continuing to evolve PvP into an E-sport as outlined here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/structured-pvp-iceberg/ - Adding brand new content to World vs. World as well as adding new reward progression. - Continuing to build upon the story and adventures of Guild Wars 2.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/Greetings citizens of Tyria! My name is Linsey Murdock. Some of you may remember me as the Guild Wars Live Team Lead before the lovely and talented John Stumme took up the cause so I could work on other projects. As a game designer for Guild Wars 2, I primarily work on crafting and items, which is why I am here to talk to you today about some exciting new features coming up for items progression that my team has been working on.
We have always worked hard to create a sense of satisfying progression rather than gear grind and this new item progression initiative is no exception. By adding challenging new combat mechanics to end-game content and ways to mitigate those mechanics through gear progression for high-end players, we can add personal progression without making the game feel like an endless treadmill of gear that is just out of your reach. Original Guild Wars fans may recognize that we took a familiar approach to our new progression. The first end game mechanic we will introduce is Agony, which will be encountered in the Fractals of the Mists dungeon, and is mitigated by Infusions. New Condition: Agony
In the upcoming Fractals of the Mists dungeon, we’ll introduce a new monster condition called Agony.
This extremely dangerous condition ticks percentages of player health away and can’t be cleansed by normal means. Players who wish to delve deep into the Fractals will find that Agony makes progress increasingly difficult, until they reach the point where some defense against this condition is a must. The only way to mitigate Agony damage is by building up resistance through Infusions, a new type of upgrade component that can be acquired in the Mystic Forge. New Upgrades: Infusions
Infusions are a special new type of Upgrade Component that can only be slotted into special Infusion slots on gear.
There are multiple types of Infusions and Infusion slots. In November, we’ll introduce Offensive, Defensive, and Omni Infusions of Fine rarity from new Mystic Forge recipes. Infusion upgrade types must be paired with their like slot, with the exception of the rare and versatile Omni Infusions which can be slotted into any type of Infusion slot.
For now, Infusions slots can only be found in gear of a new rarity type: Ascended. New Rarity Type: Ascended
In November we’ll unveil the first Ascended items. This new rarity type falls between Exotic and Legendary on the spectrum of rarity and has slightly higher stats than Exotics.
Ascended gear works a little bit differently than other gear types. The stats and functionality normally added to gear through upgrade components are actually built into Ascended items. Instead of upgrade slots, Ascended gear has Infusion slots, and rarer versions of the items also come with additional Agony Resistance built into them. Players will be able to acquire Ascended Rings in the Fractals of the Mists dungeon, and Ascended items worn on the back can be acquired through special Mystic Forge recipes.

(this was written because I'm very bored today) Martini, You need to return to Rift and drag Shawn with you (yes I know he's not a gamer). Because Madmartigan is always up to something and Torynn is plotting away in his tower the two of you need to get married in game so everyone in the guild will stop bugging you about it (also so Torynn will get his wish and not leave and cause chaos... ). Per Martini's request... P.S. If this doesn't happen, this will be Torynn:

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/november-2012/The Lost Shores November 2012 Something stirs in the Sea of Sorrows…
Unravel a mystery of monstrous proportions in The Lost Shores, a massive one-time world event that will change Tyria forever! Something is stirring in the Sea of Sorrows – and we want to make sure that you are not missing out, so here is a schedule (without spoilers) for you, so you can plan ahead:
- On Friday November 16th at noon PST (20:00 GMT) the weekend will kick off with an Event in Lion’s Arch that you don’t want to miss. This will trigger events in other parts of Tyria as well.
- On Saturday November 17th at noon PST (20:00 GMT), another phase will kick in. Each phase is triggered by a special event, but you will be able to enjoy additional content afterwards even if you cannot make the kick-off time.
There is one exception: The event will culminate in a big Finale on Sunday November 18, make sure you will not miss it. This will be a onetime only event chain that will run multiple hours, and it will kick off at noon PST (20:00 GMT). Again, this will only run once, so make sure you will be there! There will be plenty of content available to enjoy that will remain permanently in the world as a result of the outcome of this event on Sunday.
We will give you more details once we get closer to the event, but wanted to give you an early heads up so you can plan accordingly. "Brand new type of dungeon to be added - gets harder the further you get in, really big with a ton of levels. New rewards to the game that are buried deep within the new dungeon. Dungeon rewards are being actively worked on right now, and are also trying to make dungeons more fun to play." - Colin

Hey everyone, For anyone that has ever been interested in giving Eve Online a try here is an open link ( https://secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=35a9d159-8302-4fd9-9250-fdda34212d87&action=buddy) to test out the game. About: Eve Online is a player-driven, persistent-world MMORPG set in a science fiction space setting. Characters pilot customizable ships through a galaxy of over 7,500 star systems. Most star systems are connected to one or more other star systems by means of stargates. The star systems can contain moons, planets, stations, wormholes, asteroid belts and complexes.
Players of Eve Online can participate in a number of in-game professions and activities, including mining, piracy, manufacturing, trading, exploration, and combat (both player versus environment and player versus player). The character advancement system is based upon training skills in real time, even while not logged into the game. -- Nightsong

So this is a very bizarre issue I've been having lately with Mumble. When I talk other members have commented that there is a lot of static or that my voice sounds robotic. Now, normally I'd be able to figure out what's causing this issue but if I go on Vent, Teamspeak, Skype, or any other Mumble server that isn't our own I sound perfectly fine. Heck... even using a built in MMO VOIP program, such as EVE Voice or the voice comms in DDO, I still sound perfectly fine and get no static or robotic sounding voice.
Anyone have any clue what's causing The Guardian server to bug out on me and cause my voice to sound terrible?

P.S. Yes I'm stealing/borrowing the Honey Badger from Taven and applying it to the Guild Wars 2 Explorable Dungeons since "the honey badger doesn't care" about the difficulty but just wants to have a good time with others. Event Description: Now that the game has been live for two weeks I’m looking at getting some groups formed to tackle the explorable mode dungeons. To start I’m going to keep the scope of these groups limited to the first three dungeons to get people coordinated and working well in tackling the many challenges that will be thrown there way.
As always, each group will have there own dedicated Mumble channel but feel free to stop by and listen as we fail (succeed) in beating these dungeons while still somehow keeping ourselves sane.
I myself will be running groups for explorable mode Friday nights.
If anyone wishes to run a group for one of the three dungeons let me know.
Please post the following in your response (this is organizational so the group leaders know what group composition they will have): - In Game Character Name - Character Profession - Which dungeons are you interested in
Example: - Siri Nightsong - Ranger - Caudecus Manor and Twilight Arbor---------------------------------------- Three starting zones... Plains of Ashford, Queensdale, and Caledon Forest...
Three dungeons... Ascalonian Catacombs, Caudecus Manor, and Twilight Arbor...
Are you brave enough to venture into these dungeons in explorable mode?---------------------------------------- Ascalon Catacombs (Level 35)King Adelbern and his ghostly citizens have been foiled, but now, even darker entities roam the Ascalonian catacombs.
After Adelbern’s defeat, the ghosts have lost their driving purpose. With the decreased ghost numbers and activity, a group of unknown monsters (the “Gravelings,” as they’re called) have tunneled up from underneath. These creatures are thought to feed on both spirits and living beings. The Durmand Priory wants to study these dangerous creatures and, ultimately, cull their numbers. But the members of the research team have differing ideas as to how to do that. You must choose the best course of action! ---------------------------------------- Caudecus Manor (Level 45)Caudecus the Wise is currently accepting the hospitality of Queen Jennah while repairs are being made to his manor. Others seek to profit from the minister’s absence.
Lord Caudecus is the guest of the queen, and his mansion is being watched over by the Shining Blade. However, bandits are also active in the area, seeking to pillage the unprotected mansion, capture its staff, and recover the asuran technology that Uzolan had pirated. ---------------------------------------- Twilight Arbor (Level 55)Faolain has fled the Twilight Arbor, but the evil that infects this region remains. In her wake, other forces have now flooded in to take advantage of her foul magics to their own ends.
While Faolain has been defeated and driven out of Twilight Arbor, others of the Nightmare Court seek to move into her domain and take over. Her former allies and lieutenants conspire and compete to seize her old domain, and control the secrets she left behind. ----------------------------------------
