How does guild/clan organization work?

Are the shooter mechanics solid?

Is it fun?

How well laid out are the continents?  Does it make sense?  Is every base a copy of the others?

I'm always looking for true strategic gameplay. Zerging can be a tactic but it shouldn't be the only tactic. Tough to balance this. Most games don't punish zerging enough to discourage doing it a lot.

Off the top of my head...

  • How do command and control work for squad coordination?
  • Does the VOIP system work well, and does it transition you into and out of channels automatically as you join squads, vehicles, etc?
  • How are the flight characteristics for vehicles?
  • What are the requirements/limits on squad spawning?
  • For later in the beta... At what point does the average mid-range system start to choke on graphics updates in large scale battles due to numbers of people (this one would be difficult to quantify, I know... I would say a mid-range system is a Q6600 to i5 quad-core with 4 GB of RAM and a Nvidia 400 series GPU, for example).

Here's a stupid one that I've been wondering:

You know how Battlefield 3 has that vault mechanic where you can smoothly leap over small obstacles? Does Planetside 2 have a similar mechanic?

Stupid question but it's been playing on my mind, I think that little action adds a lot to the visceral experience you get from BF3, and I'd like to see it in PS2.

Also:

They say the new game encourages combat between the bases rather than just a constant base defence/attack-fest. But really all the videos we've seen have been centred around the bases... is there combat between the facilities?
