I had confirmed and downloaded everything a good 4-5 hours before I even got the email. Thanks to their customer service for letting me know while they fixed my password answer problem.

Well it looks like this weekends beta test is turning into a mess.  Apparently they're letting people into the beta in 3 waves, Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning

I don't like this idea. But I am very glad TG informed me of this -- because of this, I was confirmed to test before 8 am EST YESTERDAY! Thanks for having my back, TG!

This is one of the stupidest things I"ve ever heard of........


Depending on who you are and when they want you to test you might only get to test it for like 12 hours.  Thats stupid.

To simulate a launch environment, testers who have accepted new invites to weekend testing will gain testing access in staggered intervals based on when their invites were accepted. The first group of testers will be able to log on beginning on Friday morning (11/25) at 10:00AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin). Then, Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin) the second and final waves of testers will gain access. Please watch your email for details about when your phase of testing begins. This will come in a separate email from your invite.

So for the people who were in last weekend, what server were you on?  I just randomly picked the server iron cidadel because it didnt have a queue that friday night.

You'd think paying for the CE edition would get you some sort of preference over people who didn't even pre-order, apparently not.

With the massive number of people getting into this beta and its the last one before release I'm not even expecting to get past the queue and actually play the game.

Oh, and this Sunday is the Grey Cup(CFL football) so there's 4 hours I won't be playing. 

/sigh. Ok, I'm done ranting now.

What all this means is that you will get the full un-spoiled experience on launch day!

Besides the game sucks and is not worth playing, atleast that is what the official forums would have you think

Jag, I like you, so don't take this the wrong way: but that's a huge sense of entitlement you got there.

This is beta: they are testing the game. The purpose of delaying people into waves is so they can test their mechanism for early access (and possibly launch day). You are making the release of the game better, which is the objective of beta.

Originally, the test was only going to be one day (this is what we were told at the Fan Site Summit), but clearly the powers that be lifted that and allowed them to test for longer. Admittedly, BioWare's timing and execution haven't been always been the best, but when you're serving 1.5 million people, how could it be ideal for all of them?

I know it sucks to not be able to play like you want to (trust me - I have a hard time playing other video games, period), but you'll get yourself a taste while improving the release. The more people that play this game, the better quality of content you will get post-release: isn't that the goal?

I understand what Jag is saying and I feel the same. My understanding was that those who pre-ordered would be able to have a beta test weekend. I pre-ordered CE the day it was announced. I am a bit ticked that I get my first invite this weekend, but it also so happens that pretty much the whole world can get a key from the various web sites for this same weekend. I expected to be able to participate in a limited beta weekend and not a mass stress test. Being a holiday weekend, I will be out of town and may be able to get some playtime maybe on Friday if it's early but will be out the weekend.

At any rate, we'll be all playing in a month - I may just get that "fresh" experience!
