10 Second MMA Knockout

So a very good friend of mine who I grew up with and have pretty much known my whole life, Bruce Boyington, has ventured in to the world of MMA. He holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which is not a discipline very common in MMA. He has been a pro MMA fighter for about 2-3 years now. He had his first bout against Rick Hawn (some of you may know who he is). Unfortunately he lost that fight, and his second fight too. But since then (including last nite), has won 4 in a row.

MMA just became sanctioned in Maine a year or so ago, and Bruce is the proud owner of the first knockout in Maine MMA history. And after last nite's fight, he is now the proud owner of the fastest knockout in Maine MMA history as well. He did this in an astonishing 10 seconds with a spinning heel kick (Tim Sylvia fought a little later in the nite and knocked out Randy Smith in 12 seconds). I'm glad I can say I was at this fight last nite and it was absolutely amazing!!! I didn't shoot the following video, but I thought I'd post a link to it here for everyone to see 'cause I'm that damn proud of muh boy.

That's a phenomenal accomplishment.  I thought I recognized the name and when I saw him he did look familiar.  I think I saw his fight against Rick Hawn a couple years ago.  I've trained with Sit Yod Tong where Rick fights out of so I have some idea of just what kind of preparation they go through, awesome accomplishment.
