Worth buying the GW2 upgrade for 2000 points?
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:25:44 PM »
Hi guys,

Just wondering what the really benefits would be to upgrading my guild wars for 2000 points.  I am fairly new into game so I am now familiar with the pros of this.

Any input would be appreciated.

I personally didn't see the value of it, the biggest perk is the Rytlock minipet imo.  You get temporary bonuses for 5 days or so, and some accessories (gear) that will last you to level 30ish.  This is from memory when I was debating this in like March- so someone else feel free to fill in what may have changed.

I was mildly disappointed in the Digital Deluxe.  It wasn't worth the money, IMO.

Kinda agree, I rarely use the mist wolf which I thought was like the imp in GW1. But since the wolf is an elite you don't get it until level 30 and even then its really just "so/so". The mini is cool and the +2 all stats ring you get is a nice (but really not noticeable) addition.

Overall I think DD was a bit of a let down. Up to you if you think it was worth it or not but I was slightly disappointed.

I broke it....

You get the +2 all stats ring for pre-purchasing in the regular too.

No point in getting it really unless you want the mini pet or the elite skill.

I well throw in a +1 for the mist fire wolf.  Depending on what you are doing it is a very helpful additional dps tool.  As a warrior I find it very useful and fun.  Damage isn't massive but it is significant.

I only bought the standard edition but I've considered upgrading with Gems as well.  The only part I want of the Deluxe is the Rytlock mini but that alone isn't worth 2000 gems.  Especially since the minis end up back in the bank as soon as I hit "deposit all collectibles".

You can grab an invisible bag and that problem shouldn't occur.

I thought invisible bags only hid items at merchants (which is valuable as well).  If it keeps minis in my bags I may have to get a couple.

Invisible bags are great! They don't sort/compact, they don't auto-send to bank with the rest of your collectibles, and they don't show to vendors.  I use it for my pets, back up weapons, and things I like the look of for transmuting later.

FYI, the recipe for an invisible bag for a tailor is just the cloth and rune in a normal bag + an appropriate level ghost dust.
