You enjiying this much? I can't decide... it looks cool... kinda
I'm loving it. From an FPS perspective it needs a lot of work, only two guns have ironsights. Though since I love CQC I'm enjoying it. The ship combat is really dependent on your captain. If you have a bad captain, you lose pretty hard. It requires a lot of team work, not just on your ship, but all the ships being coordinated.
With that said, for the price I paid for it, I've gotten more than my worth out of it. It's fun and hilarious. Knowing you have the most extensive steam library I'm surprised you haven't tried it yet
Though I don't know that much about your play style to determine if you'd enjoy it. It's a fresh take on FPS. Probably one of the better naval strategy/FPS games I've seen. If you like immersion then this is the best FPS game I've seen for it. Scores aren't awarded only for kills. If you want to just run supplies for your team by carrying crates throughout the ship you can do that and still get a high score. I started out just focusing on ship repairs, but lately I've taken a liking to being a gunner on a cannon. There's no classes, you pick any loadout you want and go with it. Though I do recommend always having tea/ale. It heals you, you can hand it to others, and since most games are TDM it saves your team tickets by you not dying. You need to be careful with your shots though, the reload times on the rifles/blunderbuss and pistols are legit. If you have a multi-barrel weapon, you literally watch your avatar load every single shot. Melee needs work, but is decent if you can get around not having animations and effects. a Cutlass takes 3 slashes to kill someone, usually everyone just bunny hops in melee but if you timed block them they are stunned hard.
With that said though the development team is only 2 people. However, there are server patches regularly and they are pumping out content at a decent rate. The bugs present aren't game breaking, there's no hacking that I've seen. Decent community. I've been on the official servers mostly, they seem to have a better community of people willing to listen to their captain's orders.
If there's something specific you want to learn about the game let me know, I play it almost daily when I can.
I wont be in-game today as I'm going downtown, but I should be on tomorrow night if anyone wants to play.
If you want I can record a match for you and put it on YouTube. Most of the videos there are cut and edited to show only the epic battles and the hilarious moments. If you want to see a full match unedited I can get that for you.
Though with all this said, the game is only $20. I've put in enough hour to have made that a good purchase.
