VR had a meet and greet at the Asgard Irish Pub & Restaurant in Boston on April 5th from 8:30pm est to closing. Devs who attended where :

Brad “Aradune” McQuaid

Chris “ Joppa” Perkins

Tim “Convo” Walthen

Tod “Zippyzee” Curtis

Benjamin “Machial” Dean

David “Roenick” Schlow

Lynn “Henchman9” Ashworth

The streamer Bazgrim had a 30 min stream at the meet and greet that you can check out here :

During the stream Bazgrim talked about the first day @ PAX East and met up with the Community and Developers later in the evening to have a nice cold Dwarven Ale.

The biggest announcement during the Stream came from Joppa himself “Bard`s” might make it to Launch! They are working hard to make this happen, but it’s a big MAYBE. Still that news of the Bard was highly received and got a lot of people excited. Bards are definitely one of the most anticipated classes for Pantheon.

Bazgrim also posted a Vlog about the meet and greet, that you can watch if your interested :

On Saturday April 7th, Brad Mcquiad had a panel with other industry vets to talk about how players shape games. So most of it was non-pantheon related stuff.

But Brad did announce during the panel the planned time frames for Alpha & Beta. Alpha should start at the end of 2018, with a beta sometime in 2019. These time frames are just a rough estimate.

Word on the street is that VR is planing to have 30 zones for launch (That includes dungeons), and they will be 2x to 3x the size of a regular zone in WOW.

Here is a more in depth look at the game. This is a new zone called Black Rose Keep.

During Pax, Bazgrim, had an interview with Chris "Joppa" Perkins (Creative Director, Audio Director and Lead Game Designer). Together they talked about the different classes in Pantheon.

New Stream with TheHiveLeader. This time he was playing a cleric.

If you don't have time to watch the entire stream. Here is the TL/DR version.

Visionary Realms had a stream yesterday with CohhCarnage. It featured the new class Dire Lord ( like a blood mage tank ), and new areas.

What did everyone think of the stream ? How would you rate the game's progress? What things did you like, or would want to see added/removed/changed from the game in the future?

Well as long as there's a diverse skill system or player class I'm good. Cohhcarnage on the other hand, deserves something, more spectacular, than a gravestone.

Another stream. Head developer of Pantheon Chris Perkins invited a couple of WOW streamers to test out the game. They didn't do so hot. They died over and over again...lol

They used dev tools to get back into the game. But normally if you die, you lose xp, and your corpse, plus all the gear on you, and you have to find your corpse to get your gear back.

Alexensual teamed up with Mr.Happy and the devs to stream Pantheon.

Interesting titbits from the streams, if you don’t feel like watching.

– There will be no sharding of zones.

– There may be phasing (ala WoW) in small, specific circumstances, but it’s not currently planned. Thinks phasing is fine if done right.

– Raid size is being developed currently for different targets being 12 and 24 man raids. 40 man raids still might be in the plans as well.

– They will not be doing different challenge versions of the same raid in terms of difficulty or number cap.

– Says the Shaman is the “Bard” of the healing classes almost to the point of being a support class. Lots of synergy with other classes, specifically “drenching” the mobs and allowing the Druid and Wizard to use their lightning and shock abilities to enhanced effect. That is just one example. They also primarily heal through HoTs.

– Shaman debuffs such as Slow last 90 seconds. Shaman buffs such as Haste or Stat buffs are 24 and 36 minutes.

– Shaman have quite a few combo type abilities where if “X” ability is on the target and they cast “Y” ability, than a greatly improved and sometimes new result “Z” will occur.

– Stressed individual customization options within the same class by choosing to focus on specific stats that enhance specific abilities and playstyles. Example given was that on his Enchanter, Joppa focuses on whichever stat (Charisma?) helps extend his mez abilities, but by focusing on that stat, his mana regen abilities are lower than what other Enchanters tend to do. Mentioned that Clerics have a similar difficult choice in focusing on Wisdom or pure Hit Points as many of their abilities are based off their own maximum health. Also stressed that not all players of a particular class will have the same abilities or spells, many are quested and/or difficult to discover or find as loot.

– Joppa (Lead Dev) considers himself to be a PvP fanatic from Sullen Zek. Stresses he is focused on making Pantheon a quality PvP option. Still clarifies that PvE is first and foremost though.

At first glance, it looks like an upgraded EQ2...but I do like what the devs are saying and how they are dissing Warcrafts approach of spoonfeeding players and streamlining everything. Plus the crafting looks very challenging, which I like. Kind of interesting, never even looked at this game before. 2019 might be interesting, Pantheon, Crowfall, Camelot Unchained....very very interesting.
