Verdun & Tannenberg - 1914-1918 WW1 Game Series
« on: April 28, 2015, 10:20:14 AM »
Hi all,

Did a search and didn't see this come up, save for DomGraz1's intro post a few months back. Is anyone else thinking of picking this up? It just came out of early release today.

I'm especially keen on Great War/WWI history as of late and been eyeing this one's development a bit.

Verdun on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/242860/
Tannenberg on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/633460/Tannenberg/

Edit: Added Tannenberg link and renamed title to reflect both games.

I'm not interested at full price. I will keep an eye on it though. Looks like a nice shooter.

It actually does have a few bucks shaved of for the first week or so Can't remember now how much early access was but it could of been more.

I read a very solid review liated under Helpful. Definitely favors a squad of four based game but it still tracks your solo progression. If I see others are interested I'll snag it during this sale rather than later.

EDIT: Removed a sentence that didn't make sense, likely due to Swiftkey being dumb. It changed the sentence so much I didn't even recognize the thought anyways.

Looks interesting.  Added to my wishlist, I'll wait for a few more reviews before picking it up.

The gameplay looks very immersive and normally is something I would be all over but I don't feel like playing many games these days. I think I am going through gaming burnout. Or maybe a mid life crisis.

Not to frighten you, but I've been like this for a few years now.  :'(

Hey guys! I'm a big Verdun player, I REALLY recommend it. It gets better with each update, and when your match is even halfway full, you feel like you're really in a chaotic, early 20th Century battlefield. The artillery is realistic as HELL, the gas is a very cool addition - rushing to put your mask on while your character coughs and falls to the ground and your vision fades. The guns are realistic, as is the shooting, bullet drop and all that. It's pretty cool being under cover in your trench, shooting a person running though no mans land, reload, shoot another. And there's only a few machine gunners per match. It's a very teamwork-oriented game - you'll see tons of chat about strategy and all that. And if we get even 4 people on here who want to play, we can start our own team, level it up, be proud and all that. I've never had a solid team on here, just some friends who will join me sometimes. It's a great game, and honestly is really worth the money. It'll probably only go up once it's finished. My gamertag is DictatorDom, just shoot me PM letting me know youre from the guardians. If anyone responds with interest I'll post my work + class schedule (though both will change in the coming months).

This is a sad part of getting older and playing games for years - you'll suddenly just lose interest. Even if you were JUST enjoying it, you suddenly have no drive.

Thanks for the info, DomGratz! I think I'm gonna snag it Monday, just before the sale goes out. That way, I'm not tempted to play it over the weekend. Got a lot to do!

Booms don't turn into someone who only buys things when they have coupons : o

I've been watching this game for a while. The previous videos I saw showed it required a lot of work still. But that was a while ago.

May grab it. Save $1 if you buy before May 4th...

Do it! And add me on steam so we can play. I also can't get on till Monday due to work, so I can show you the ropes on day one :D. Also, something posted on the Verdun Subreddit today that made me laugh: http://www.reddit.com/r/VerdunGame/comments/34mv7j/what_playing_verdun_feels_like/

I was strictly a German player... Until the Canadians were introduced all those months ago. Once you go Canuck....
