Canadians rarely make it into games. They're usually lumped in with the UK in war simulators which is irritating. With this being WWI it makes sense to have them in the game. I wish Canadians made it into WWII games as well, seeing as how they were in the whole war and their contributions differ from those of the UK.

Outside of honing my Star Citizen piloting skills, I've been jumping into Frontlines missions, trying out different squads. I've no favorite just yet. There's a lot to learn in this game! My current annoyance is the UI and how darn frustrating the spending of career points is. I've spent zero of my current 16 or 18. I've read that you can only choose them from within a match, which makes no sense given that this wastes your squad and entire side's time by not contributing to the match! I need some clear, step by step on this. No guide on Steam has made it clear how it works. Even the devs have shown an animated one, but the features they show on the screen don't match up with what is live.

Aside from that, the combat is very satisfying, if not unforgiving. But I went in expecting that.

New patch for Verdun has dropped his week, and I've yet to check it out. DomGraz1, I think I may of spotted you jumping in to play. How is it?

Here's the patch notes, including an intriguing new game mode called Attrition and a massive map graphics update.

Here's a great update on what's coming for Verdun, as well as some pics below.

Shot of new map: Fort Douaumont

The Springfield is in! Such beaut.
Quote
The famous M1903 Springfield rifle, renowned for its accuracy and reliability was loved by both the US Army and US Marine Corps. When the U.S joined the war in 1917, it was faced with a shortage of the m1903 and assigned factories producing the British pattern 1914 to produce an american version chambering .30-06 - the pattern pattern 1917. The P17 would see more use during the great war, however, the springfield was still very much so a part of the conflict. This infamous rifle would see action in many conflicts involving the U.S. during 21st century including WW2, Korea, and Vietnam.

In Verdun the M1903 will see action as the standard issue rifle for the (to-be-implemented) US Marine squad, as well as an alternative rifle for the US ‘Doughboys’. The rifle will handle in a similar manner to the Gewehr 1898, in terms of balance it may be slightly faster to operate, however balance will be decided nearer the time of implementation.

This looks like it could be insanely fun with creating squads of 4 people.

I haven't checked the expansion.  Dag and I were playing this quite a bit, may have to fire it back up again.   We really enjoyed what we did play of it.

Just announced!

http://store.steampowered.com/app/633460/Tannenberg/

I went ahead and updated the title of the thread too so both games are reflected. From what I understand, both games will have a shared menu system, so you won't feel so split between which to play.

Nov 16th is the early access release for Tannenberg! Looming forward to this. For the uninitiated, it is a stand-alone expansion that will share the same menu system, so you can easily hop between Verdun and Tannenberg maps seamlessly with development on both to continue.
