For our new additions and newly-returned members, the yearly anniversary sale temporarily makes available a number of ships which are otherwise limited sale and not normally available for purchase or as an upgrade target. The prices of these ships are higher than their concept sale prices and they don't come with LTI (lifetime insurance) or hangar swag. It's a good chance for you to pick up the ship that's had you drooling since you first saw it. They also tend to put together larger packages which bundle multiple ships together at a very slightly reduced cost. It's important to keep in mind that ships from those packages cannot be melted (returned for store credit) separately, you have to return the entire package. You can, however, upgrade the ships separately, with the upgraded ships still tied to the original package.
I'm going to be very interested to see what kinds of pods/modules they make available this year. Last year the only ship for which you could buy modules was the Endeavor, with its various types of science pods (written up nicely by Meridian here: https://www.guardianhq.com/starcitizen/ship-modulepod-pricing/
) but given the recent shipyard changes, the rework of the BUK (Battlefield Upgrade Kit) system for the Vanguard, and the fact that the Caterpillar has been in the game now for ages, it wouldn't completely shock me to see modules/pods for other ships make their concept debut in this event.
Please feel free to use this thread for your own speculations and to collect info ahead of and during the sale.
