It has been 4 years and the game finally left early release on Steam :)

Much improved. I like the building mechanics much better than the old days. They are only now getting back to adding NPC enemies (Scientists in hazmat outfits with guns). Until then I need to watch out for the bears, wolves and other players. Oh yeah and that damn attack helicopter.

They also added a number of cave systems with areas you can build in. I have a lovely underground base at the moment on Kilmar's server.

Been playing since launch. I'm in a fairly big alliance, could get you guys in if needed but the guild I am in doesnt allow much freedom. The fighting in LiF is pretty crazy though, 60 v 60 type encounters 3-4 times a week during judgement hours.

Sounds intense. Did they improve the combat? I've only been secluded and off and on so mostly crafting.

Combat is pretty good but it cant touch Mount and blade, they just improved their server hardware so hit detection has gotten significantly better.

Alright t sounds pretty good for me. Did they fix the laggy animations for the weapon swings?

Fighting in the game is slightly laggy, way better than when we used to play, to the point where I "almost" enjoy fighting, there are still issues with how combat feels that you can't avoid, and hit boxes can float in large battles, but for the most part the lag isnt game breaking. Cav right now is OP but they just came out with a nerf for them and improved anti cav (spearmen) and archery.

I feel like I am jacking Grumns thread but since he may be interested, I have just moved to another guild inside the alliance I am in and I fought with these guys in CRPG, they are more of a relaxed atmosphere so if you guys wanted to join the game and try it out I could probably get you into the guild. If more than 5 TG members played I could probably get us our own plot of land that we could build a castle on and run our own guild. Could also get a bunch of supplies to help start it out. It would come with full protection from our alliance (60+ fighters). Not gonna lie I am pretty into this game right now, the politics rival darkfall so it has been fun fighting and seeing what happens. You are almost guaranteed a good fight for an hour or two every day of the weekend. Crafting has been really cool too. Basically medieval rust with a feudal guild system.

Anyway, sorry for jacking the thread, one day I'll play Rust again :P

MMO, if you look at the map in game, we own the bottom right island and are currently in a 3 way battle for the SE island, though we have strong allies on the northern point. Server name is Buyan.
