oh I am used to getting bit.. Nothing like a 7 year old girl biteing you on the arm and finger and shoulder.. For 8 weeks.. So biting does not scare me. But what Scares me is well some small green things that appear out of nowhere.. Oh wait they are not always green :D.

Kidding I will get it once I find a Headset

Because Martini quoted the start of this poem I am posting the entire thing with a little bit of a twist to fit with Guild Wars 2 and ArenaNet.

Enjoy.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Guild Wars 2 soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of dragon-slaying danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be ArenaNet.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Balthazar! now, Dwayna! now, Melandru and Lyssa!
On, Grenth! On, Dhuum! on, on Kormir and Abaddon!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Guild Wars 2 goodness, and ArenaNet too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney ArenaNet came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Guild Wars 2 goodness he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

I will be giving away some gems either at launch or sometime Saturday as well.
Plus get a hold of me Martini and we can talk about how many gems I'll be giving you for sponsoring the gifts.

.  .  . and because I can't leave well enough alone and I totally STOLE your idea . . . .
( yea yea, some of the rhymes aren't QUITE right ;) )

Twas the night before headstart, and all through the guild
Not a member was sleeping, the excitement just built.
The login screens sat open on desktops since five
In the hopes that Guild Wars 2 soon would be live

The players sat snug, all set in their chairs
And Martini sat back, and twirled several of her hairs
Myself stocked with beer at the desk to my right
I knew I'd be in for a long play session night

When lo and behold my clicking paid off
The screen went blank and I let out a cough
"Could we be starting earlier?" I wondered, "then we had first thought ?"
My patience at this point, could no longer be fought

I leaned closer to the monitor's glow
Waiting to see the animations flow
To create a character with my chosen name
For fear of getting stuck with one that was lame

A minute passed by, then two and three
It seemed a lifetime of waiting, at least it did for me
And finally the screen flickered to life in it's glory to show
Only Error 47,  wait, what the f*ck, No No No

To mumble I went for answers and help
I hit push to talk and gave a small yelp
But none had responded, it seemed they'd all gone
I couldn't even find the GW expert Nightsong

They are playing without me, I yelled in sorrow
My wife laughed at me, and said, "Play tomorrow".
I desparately hit the power button with force
It just needs a reboot, that's it, of course

The machine whirred and churned, waking up to turn on
I wondered why it was taking so long
Snissel is probably in the mists already
I whinned, fighting to keep my anger steady

Ambrosia, Duck, Kyuzo and Bona
With Martini, Mystee, JoeCold and Voa
All having fun with countless others inside
while I stare at the screen, my hope still alive

Two mouse clicks later and I'm back to the start
my hands slick with sweat, the hard beat of my heart
The password flies forth and a click to login
Oh my god it's now working, it's time to begin.

And onto the mumble channel I return
With whoops and hollers from the others in turn
"It's started it's started" they said with glee
And I know, deep down, that this guild is for me

As I sat down to play all through the night
I heard Nautix exclaim loud and bright
"Guardians lead the way"
and though many were already, inside at play
no one dared pause or even delay
instead what was said was "All the way"

Slight mistake in that poem. I'll probably have Mumble open all weekend to answer any questions... Other than that, interesting twist on the poem.

Hahah some awesome prose going on.  Reminds me of Daniel O'Brien's "The Night Before Christmas" article on Cracked.com.  I'd post it, but, as is O'Brien's style, it's ladened with all kinds of questionable language.

ABOYNE (vb.) To beat an expert at a game of skill by playing so appallingly bad that none of his clever tactics or strategies are of any use to him.
