My fellow Guardians! After becoming your Assistant Guild Leader I was given a joyous task. As you all know it's the Ass's responsibility to receive then act upon recommendations for guardian honors. And since this specific recommendation was for the person to receive the highest award given to a Guardian! I did my due diligence.
It's the best thing about being the ASS! Being able to give out awards to deserving members.
Is hereby awarded the Crimson Laurel
The Crimson Laurel: The highest honor a Guardian can receive, it is awarded to those extraordinary individuals whom personify the values and traits that the Guardians hold most dear, and live the Code through their every action. This award should be reserved for those Guardians who, without question, make TG the guild that it is.
This is a no brainer for me, he did an amazing job through some tough times and is the perfect example of what a Guardian should aspire to be.
...means the laurel can not be earned by one action, but by years of putting TG first. and this is true of Jiraxis. Jiraxis served as a SWTOR DL for about 1.5 years and GL for almost 2 years. In all that time Jiraxis had to put the guild ahead of his gaming time and offer leadership and guidance to this large and diverse guild we all call our gaming home.
In SWTOR, Jiraxis lead our Division its greatest heights. Under his leadership the division came together and rallied for common goals. The first objective was completing our guild ship, which we did as a WORLD first. The second objective was completing the Galaxy Conqueror achievement/title in the planetary conquest system. We were the server first that, and among the first couple guilds in the world to achieve this.
During this time, Jiraxis lead a division that had 30-40 TG members log in on a daily basis with the typical weekend spikes that could hit 50. This is not without issues that pop up; and Jiraxis never shrank or ignored the issues/drama but tackled it head on.
as GL, I saw Jiraxis give his leadership team the freedom to do their jobs without interference or micromanagement from himself. as GL, Jiraxis offered a guild first attitude and always tried to make decisions that were A) following the charter and B) in the best interest of the guild. he also rarely made decisions without consulting others; the council was almost always allowed to offer opinions before decisions were made.
In Jiraxis the DL and GL, I saw a TG member that always put guild first, and if necessary on his back. for his career in TG Leadership, there is no doubt in my mind that a crimson laurel merited.
...took over SW:ToR and made the division come alive again. He also became the guild leader during a very trying time. He had to make some very hard decisions, but he did what was good for the whole guild. He was a fair and dedicated leader.
