Ladies and gentlemen, I have been looking for different builds for different situations. I had to take a hard look at Pyromancer and its ST-DPS (Single Target DPS) style. Everyone knows that Pyro is a powerful STDPS but requires you to remain stationary formax DPS. This build maximizes DPS and gives you some room to move around aswell. Additionally, this build provides massive health back for sticky boss situations that require you to take damage redardless of what you do. Hell, it even does decent at AOE-DPS. My Spell Power is 880 and my Crit Rating is 665.

This is what it is all about...

Necromancer / Warlock / Archon

First off, lets talk about our zero-point soul, Archon. Archon is an exelent damage booster because of the stat boost that it provides. Pillaging Stone and Searing Vitality stack on you as buffs that provide 5 stacks. You only need to cast Searing Vitality one time and as it ticks off, it will give you the stacks automatically. Pillaging Stone will give you one stack per cast. These buffs give you 5 miniutes of stats but the good news is that just casting each of them once will refresh the duration on all stacks. So the goal with this is to get your stacks on trash before you really need to bring the pain  and then sustain every 5 min or less.

Attached is the soul tree you will want to use. Notice I got all DPS related skills with only a few exceptions. Being a mobile ST-DPS build, I have tricky bosses in mind. You can waste soul walks every time you wipe, or you can make use of one of these exceptions to stay alive: Feign Death. If you find that your tank and/or healer dies, use this. It doesnt work every time, but it is a better alternitave to losing soul vitality and soul walks. You can use Reclaim Power to drain life from your pat and convert it into Mana for yourself.

SINGLE TARGET - DAMAGE PER SECOND
          (Roughly 890 DPS)

The Buffs:

-Warlock Armor
-Neddra's Might
-Searing Vitality x1 (Enemey Target Required)
-Pillaging Stone x5 (Enemey Target Required)

The Rotation:

-Life Leech (Idealy, this is the only time you cast it)

[Phase 1 (Mobility Dots)]
-Necrosis
-Looming Demise
-Grave Rot
-Dark Touch
-Draining Bolt (if it is up)
-Neddra's Grasp (cant test this on dummies)
-Void Bolt
[Phase 2 (Stationary Healing DPS)]
-Macro: (Sacrifice Life: Damage / Lich Form)
-Soul Purge
-Void Bolt

I like to split this into 2 phases. Phase 1 is the dots. Phase 2 is the channel in place. The Separater between the two is refreshing your Life Leech with Void Bolt. All 5 stacks of Deathly Calling is covered with Grave Rot. The pet you will use with this is Skeletal Zealot. You have 2 points in Oppourtunity after you have all the necessary tallents. You can use your Oppourtunity for quick casts of Void Bolt, or if you have Empty The Crypts up, you can use that as a noticable damage boost. (The parsing that I used to get the DPS rating of this build did not incorperate Empty The Crypts)

AREA OF EFFECT - DAMAGE PER SECOND
(Roughly 1300 DPS on 3 targets)

The Buffs:

-Warlock Armor
-Neddra's Might
-Searing Vitality x1 (Enemey Target Required)
-Pillaging Stone x5 (Enemey Target Required)

The Rotation:

-Necrosis
-Grave Rot
-Devouring Shadows
-Necrosis
-Grave Rot
-Macro: (Sacrifice Life: Damage / Lich Form)
-Mortality (Devouring Shadows if this is on CD)

This rotation is strait forward. You use your Shadow Revenant pet for this rotation.

I hope this helps some of the newer mages and maybe even some older mages with tricky fights or even as a main spec. Please help me and my build out with feedback if you have any!

This is probably looking to be top dps spec after the nerf to Stormcaller, nice job putting it up here :D

Your build is very close to mine, except that I have Chloromancer instead of Archon so I'm thinking of switching to Archon after reading this. I cant speak for after the 1.3 patch, but I found this spec to be more useful in solo PvP/PvE and leveling. Its the general spec that I run around the world in. The pet and numerous abilities to heal yourself make this a great utility spec. I know gear plays a part, but I haven't found it as useful in raids/dungeons versus a Stormcaller build. Again, the patch may turn this all on its head, but that's what it looks like currently. The bonuses from having Archon definitely improve upon the formula.

Galahad - Shadowbane - Deception/Vengeance (2003 - 2006)
Sargonnas - World of Warcraft - Archimonde (2004 - 2010)
Sargonnas - Age of Conan - Cimmeria (2008 - 2009)
Sargonnas - Warhammer Online - Chaos Wastes (2008 - 2009)
Sargonnas - Rift - Sunrest (2011)

I agree that most of the time, Storm Caller is the better option. I have found, however, that with tricky bosses like the last one in AP, this one out performed storm caller simpily because you can run and apply dots at the same time and when you get droped to 30% health, you just time your rotation to make sure phase 2 happens and you have no issues with dying. But I agree, most of the time I do Storm Caller. I do, however, perfer this spec as single target DPS over pyro.

I just updated DPS rating and AOE spell rotation on this build. This build seemed to have been buffed. Single Target DPS in T2 Instances is amazing now. In AP, the highest DPS i've done AOE is nearly 1700. It isnt as good as Stormcaller used to be, but it is a healthy replacement. Does anyone have Pyro DPS that they can compare to this build now? I am curious how the DPS compares.

Additionally, I forgot that I now have a trinket that adds 106 SP for 30 seconds, 2 min cooldown. I have been using this in the macro with lich form and sac life: damage. Just for the info, if you have it, use it.

What parser are you using?

I don't have a parser yet, but I would be willing to download one and run numbers to compare the DPS of a couple of my specs.  I have a pyro/archon/lock spec that I would be willing to parse for the purpose of comparision.
