Title: Back in WoW
Post by: Sylent Jay on February 16, 2017, 12:20:35 PM
I needed something to break up the monotony of FIFA, and couldn't talk myself into buying Overwatch so I redownloaded WoW and resubbed. I'm not a fan of paying a sub but maybe if I farm enough gold I can use the WoW token thing. Anyhoo, until Star Citizen gets further along going to give this a go again.

Main problem, haven't really played since Cata so I'm pretty far behind the curve. The good thing about it is there is loads of content for me to explore. Other problem is most all of my toons were Horde so it will cost a pretty penny to move and faction change them. I've only moved my Druid at the moment because I was having tons of fun playing feral PvP before quitting. Also leveling a DK but we'll see.

Really considering moving my Pally over but that's another $50 bucks that I don't really want to pay right now...to bad you can't use WoW tokens, or whatever, to fund that kind of thing.

Actually you can fund anything in the Blizzard store now, using a token. Even transfers !

They changed it last week, that is why tokens are now skyrocketing through the roof.

yeah was just about to mention that the WoW token can be use for *nearly* any WoW product and service, including Overwatch, Overwatch loot boxes, Future WoW expansions and WoW services like Transfer, Faction changes, etc.

It's possible to redeem the Token to b.net balance and buy game time (via the cards).

We're mostly on Feathermoon/Scarlet Crusade btw, I'm not sure if that's where you were before or not!

I've been paying my sub through making gold and buying tokens since late WoD when tokens came out, and I can still do that even with the increased prices. It's mostly buying mats at low prices and then crafting items and selling them, I spend maybe 10mins doing that every day while I have my coffee in the morning. I use a couple of addons to make the AH tolerable to use but nothing heavy like TSM or Auctionator.

I only really do it because I can though, once I got into the habit of using the AH like I am it just became my morning routine. I'm not sure I'd say 90k gold a month is "worth" it but you could do every other month with cash instead too.

Here's a site for token prices https://wowtoken.info/ , and a token adds $15 to your BNet account balance.

Thanks for all the info. $15 per month isn't going to break the bank, it's more principle than anything.

Anyhoo, should be fun checking out the content. Do y'all TS3 much? I logged in last night and it was Jonestown in TS3.

Also, my horde toons were on Smolderthorn. Sort of during my self-imposed TG exile   :-[

Some do, some don't.  You'll find it full during raid nights though or if people are running Mythic+ dungeons.

Yeh if it was between 5-8PM PST we were all in the raid channel, and most of us hang out there afterwards for a bit.
